Day 219- Future as a stunt man

Jackson was in a good mood today. He thinks hitting his head is hilarious, the word "ouch" even funnier. I think he's aspiring to take over for Jackass in his future- I'm so proud. I didn't get much sleep last night and it's just me, Jackson, Joe, Bernie, and some deep cleaning for the next two days, so this is short tonight. I can't believe Jackson's going to be 1 this week- so crazy. I also have an OB appointment Wednesday and I'll schedule the "big" ultrasound then too so this week is a big week for our family.
Breakfast with Dada
Yummy- pickles for lunch :)
He crawled over to join Bernie and Joe for dinner
Trying to steal Joe's food
Sad b/c Bernie didn't leave him any
See the big red mark on his forehead? This is after he got mad at me b/c I wouldn't let him bang his head anymore- goofy kid.

Day 218- Day with Daddy

I had to work on my classroom because they are going to be doing the hallways next week and I will be banned. Then I will be focusing on my baby turning 1 so I will have no time for classroom thoughts. After 7 hours I made a lot of progress. There will still be stuff to do when I see who shows up for school, what my final schedule will be, and how much progress the kids made. Tomorrow I will finish up decorating and cleaning and take Jackson to Kid's Day at the park. Then cleaning and re-organizing the house will begin.

Jackson and Russell both survived with smiles. I took some pictures when I was with Jackson this morning before Russell got up and then from right before dinner when I got home.
Reading What Makes Elmo Happy?
He just loves Joe Dog
Happy b/c Joe just gave him a kiss
munching on tortilla chips, Dad's idea of lunch

Day 217- Bad morning, good afternoon

It's late and I still have diapers to do. So this morning was a rough morning and I only got rough pictures. My only break from a very whiny, easily upset baby was the 30 minutes of Super Why? After his 3 hour nap, we headed to Clarksburg and got some food for his party, his present, his new "big boy" car seat, and a lovie for the new baby. Jackson was much happier there, but didn't eat dinner well. Tomorrow he has the day with his Dad so that I get to work on my classroom. My goal is to have it pretty much done by Sunday night so next week I can focus on getting everything ready for his party and enjoying my last couple of summer days with Jackson.
:(
Watching Super Why and cuddling with Mama (which he never does)
Mama- it's the stupid dinosaurs!
Back from Clarksburg I planned on putting him straight to bed b/c he fell asleep before we were off of Emily Dr. but while I was feeding the dogs he decided to tell me that it was bath time
And his favorite part of bath time= story time. Jackson loves to pick out his favorite books and give them to me. If I show him a book he doesn't want to read, he shakes his head no with enthusiasm. Definitely has his own personality and likes and dislikes emerging more and more daily.

Day 216- Yucky means do it again right?

I'm watching Big Brother, but we really had a nice day today just hanging out at home. I had planned to go into my classroom, but realized there will be very few days of just the two of us left so I decided to wait until this weekend.

Jackson has decided that yucky is funny and likes to find "yucky" things, put them in/near his mouth and then laugh hysterically. To me, as long as it isn't dangerous, he'll realize he doesn't like the taste. "No" would be the only word coming out of my mouth if I freaked over every dog toy, random thing, and piece of grass he decided to taste. I don't want to live in that misery, so we just go with the flow and laugh.

We are working really hard on nice hands right now as he has begun hitting me and Joe. He doesn't like "nice hands" but he's learning. We also got to go out and play in the pool today- I love to watch him in the water.

Just one more week and my baby will be 1 year old. He is growing up so quickly. I have a bunch of pictures today because he was in such a good mood all day today.
Proud of himself switching from couch to table
He found the dog bone on Joe and Bernie's bed
Hmmm let's see how it tastes
I'm so silly mama, it's yucky!
Look mama- I'm doing it again!
Dare me to try it one more time?
Where's Jackson?
Where's Jackson?
Peek a boo!
Smacking a very patient Joe in the face (I didn't know he was going to do this when I got the camera- I thought he was going to be nice)
What's your problem? That was "nice hands"
Evil child ripped down his mobile
Playing hide and seek in the laundry basket
Ahhhhh I'm going to get you!
Checking out the step ladder I had to use to put his mobile back up

Day 215- Super Shopper

Jackson didn't take very long naps today, but was excellent as we did all our shopping for his party today. Russell got home around 3:30 and I was able to go to school and work a little in my room. I'm feeling much better, though there is still a lot to do.

Russell said Jackson was not a happy kid when he woke up. He took a couple of pictures for me since we were busy during the day. Here is my favorite:

Day 214- It only took 11.5 months

To have Jackson sit still and not scream when I clipped his nails. Now he did scream for both feet and one hand, but the last hand he just let me do it. Thank goodness! I hate trimming his nails because of how miserable it makes him, I was so glad to not listen to him cry during that last hand. I rewarded his excellent behavior with an organic lollipop- which he loved!

I only took a couple of pictures today because we were busy playing, taking the dogs to the vet, or he was napping. Since the vet appointment was right when he should have been taking his morning nap, his whole schedule was thrown off today. We didn't get home until 11:30 and then he slept until 2. He refused to nap at all the rest of the day and was sound asleep for the night by 7:30. I tried a new diaper combination because he's been soaking through at least one diaper every night by 3:00. It's not like it takes much to change him and he's sound asleep on the changing table before I finish, but I want to sleep through the night.

So tonight we tried one of our night diapers (a sustainablebabyish fitted) with an artsy fartsy foo foo insert and a fleece liner (for a stay dry feeling). He still wears his wool shorties which have protected his sheets despite the sopping diapers. I'm tired, but trash is out, toys are cleaned up, floor is swept. All I have left to do is diapers and baby clothes laundry and I am headed to bed.
Don't mess with me while I have my lollipop, geeze mom
Let's make sure to get nice and sticky
Happy kid :)

Day 213- spaghetti makes the world better

Jackson was great today, for the most part. We had a nice morning at home and then went to school to work on my classroom a bit. He was excellent, played by himself, ate lunch, and stayed in a great mood for 4 hours. When we got home he slept for a couple of hours and was on a bit of a later schedule. When he woke up from his nap, he was not a happy kid. However, thanks to Joe and spaghetti and meatballs, the rest of the evening was great! Now that I'm almost caught up on laundry, dishes are done, and dinner is cleaned up- it's time to read a little and join Joe and Bernie in bed. Up early tomorrow to take Joe Dog to the vet for this random rash he picked up last weekend :(
First thing this morning- I should follow washing instructions lol
After his 2nd nap, trying to look extra pathetic
Crawled to the other room to cry some more, nothing I did seemed to make him happy
Stealing Joe's bone seemed to cure everything
Then he threw it back at Joe
Next, he stole Joe's Gumbi (maybe I should be concerned that harassing the dog helps to get him out of a bad mood)
Playing hide and seek under his rocking chair
Big bite!
spaghetti fixes any mood
this face makes me want to serve spaghetti every night
