Day 187- Terrible 2s at 10 months...

So Mr. Jackson is developing quite a little attitude. When he can't have something he whines and throws toys. If he's mad about something he slams stuff around and purposely won't listen. I know he's not feeling good, but man- so not a fan of the attitude. I'm so going to be in for it when he talks! I'm having a hard time finding a way to stop it. I used to redirect and he would be fine, but now when he wants to have a fit, there is nothing I can do to stop it. I'm just walking away and not acknowledging it right now, I then play with him when the fit is over. I hope it works! Since he was a cranky little man today, there aren't a whole lot of pictures, but there are some. I can't wait until these teeth break through- I'm ready for my happy, easy going, silly little boy back.

Day 186- Woof, Woof

I have been watching Harry Potter trivia on Twinkie Tush's FB page (b/c I didn't win round one :( ) so it's just pics and captions tonight. 5:30 comes awful early!

While I was trying to figure out how to switch my cameras mode, Jackson decided to try the water for himself. Mom fail.

Day 185- Happy? 4th of July

I've had one cranky kid all day. His naps were cut short from phone calls, thunderstorms, and other outside noises. I can't tell if it's his ear or teeth bothering him, or both. He's finally down with ear drops and motrin so hopefully he'll get some good sleep tonight b/c it's back to work and the sitters tomorrow. It rained all day so there was no celebrating here, just trying to keep Mr. Jackson happy. While his father was watching him, poor kid fell and cracked his eye and now has a black eye to boot. So now he's a white kid, with red, swollen gums, and blue bruise over his eye- yep that pretty much sums up our independence day.

We did salvage the evening by serving his favorite- spaghetti and meatballs! That did seem to lift his spirits.

Day 184- spoon failure, car show semi success, naps over success

Today was a bit toasty and I think it made Mr. Jackson a sleepy kid. He was up and played with me this morning, had his Sunday pancake and eggs breakfast, we cleaned out all of his 9 month clothes, smaller 12 month clothes, and pulled out some of the smaller 18 month clothes. The baby led weaning book suggests introducing dippers and spoons at 10 months old for them to get the hang of it. For fear of my house, I've held back. Today I decided to try it. I put some yogurt on his tray. He ate off the loaded spoon and I was excited. Then he flung the spoon and yogurt around, threw it on the tray and proceeded to eat with his hands. So, OK, I'll try dippers then I thought. I cut the pancake and showed him how to dip it in his yogurt. He rubbed the whole thing through the yogurt and then smeared it on his face and laughed. FAIL. I think I'll stick to loading the spoon and then handing it to him for a while more, or move the high chair outdoors.

Then he went down for his nap- 1 1/2 hours- pretty typical. Then when he got up we loaded up and headed to the car show downtown. He hung in there a little bit, but after an hour was turning quite cranky. I should have know he was done when he refused to look at the camera for pictures and barely played with Miss Elin. He was sound asleep before we left the parking lot. When I got home and got him to bed I expected him to be up in an hour so Russell and I cleaned out his pool in anticipation of some swim time. Well, Jackson had other plans and slept for over 3 hours! When he got up after 6 it was getting ready to storm, no pool tonight. The storm was needed though, and I'm really enjoying the cooled down air! After this it's off to read the Sookie Stackhouse series outdoors. He had a tasty dinner with Dad and then Dad did bath time too, a nice surprise!

The pictures aren't great tonight because like I said, he was one sleepy kid- but we did squeeze some good ones out.

Day 183- Silly kid, early night

We had a great time at a picnic today. Jackson got up from his nap at noon and we didn't get to the picnic until 3. I thought that MAYBE he'd be a little fussy around 4, but we could make it until 5. No- the kid made sure he was the center of attention until 6. He crawled after us, the dog, another little one. He talked and waved to everyone, laughed and had a great time. We weren't even out of the driveway before Jackson was asleep. He's in bed now and has been since 6. When he gets up we'll change him into his PJs and night time diapers. Thank goodness I had just changed him into a click- that should hold him for quite awhile. I didn't take a camera to the picnic, so I have some pics from playing around the house this morning.

Day 182- Yay for weddings

Jackson and I got to see the entire wedding, it was beautiful. He lasted a little at the reception, I got to briefly visit with some old friends but he was done before dinner was served. He only had two 1 hour naps, when he's used to at least two 2 hour naps. He hung in until 7 though, without dinner, so I can't complain.

I think had I not been pregnant I would have gotten a sitter for him, but with starting summer school this week and the wedding being a later one- I probably would have only been able to hold out a little longer myself.
