Day 72- Cool Dude

We were traveling all day yesterday and I thought that I had the camera in Jackson's room where he was finally sound asleep so I didn't get to post last night. But here is a pic of Jackson in his cool dude traveling clothes getting ready for our trip.

Day 71- Cooking

Now that everything is done, I'm ready for bed. We travel to New Martinsville tomorrow for a couples bridal shower. Day trips comprise of so much more now that we have Jackson. I have to get a ton packed in the morning so I'm just going to share the pics from today and run.

Day 70- 7 Months Old

It's really hard to believe that he's already 7 months old! He was a happy little guy today, he stayed up late and we got extra play time. However, this is a short post b/c I'm headed to bed too- we've got a big weekend up ahead. Here are a couple of pictures from dinner. He's starting to master the pincher grasp already....growing up too fast!

Day 69- Last day as a 6 month old

I can't believe how quickly my little guy is growing up. Tomorrow he will be 7 months old! While he is still totally stubborn about tummy time, he moves all over his crib. One of today's pictures shows where he could roll from back to belly, but he just won't. He shows more personality every day. Today he actually pushed Joe away and "yelled" at Joe b/c he was annoying Jackson. Today was the last long day for this week. Only 2 more weeks of basketball and I will have more days that I get to leave work at 4 than not- I'm really looking forward to things like walks with Joe, Jackson, and Bernie and time at the park. Over the last couple of days I've had some awesome wins on Facebook: free fudge, $25 to a natural toy store, a $50 Indian block baby quilt, and a cool air freshener. So I do apologize for all the "likes" and random comments, but they are paying off!
It's been a long week so far, snow is in the forecast and I really hope at the very least we get a 2 hour delay- I'm sooooo tired that I forgot to take the diapers and wetbag to the sitters today. Thank goodness I made sure to have a full stash for her. We have a full weekend planned, so hopefully you all will do a snow dance tonight too and mother nature will do her job!

However, in the event that doesn't happen- I'm off to bed knowing that tomorrow I'll be a mom to a 7 month old!
Jackson thinks he's ready to stand by himself, but he still needs a little help
Practicing standing

Looks like he's going to roll over right?
just kidding
Mom, you're so funny- thinking I'm going to roll onto my tummy. I'm not dumb!
Silly Jackson and his guard dog.

Day 68- Day with Daddy

Getting ready for bed but Jackson and Russell survived each other. The first picture is where Russell took a little to long to respond to Jackson's sleep cues and the little guy passed out in his exersaucer. The second is of Jackson getting ready for lunch with Russell. The third is of Jackson trying to do the "fist pound" in the "outfit" Russell put on him today.

But in the end, I had a happy, healthy baby and a sane husband so it must have been a good day!

Day 67- Good Morning

The first picture today is how Jackson wakes up. He rolls over and hides his face. Then he'll roll back over but refuse to open his eyes. It's a 10 minute process each morning, but he does wake up with a smile, so I can't complain. Oh and that's not how I lay him down in the crib, it's just how he ends up.

He also got to hang out with Russell tonight while I went to coach our scrimmage. They both survived and with smiles- Russell took some pictures to prove it :) Tomorrow Russell's got him all day so I hope they are both in as good a mood!

Day 66- Busy Day

Jackson went to sleep with a smile on his face, which is always a great night. He was in a fabulous mood today and we actually got to play for a good 40 minutes in his room tonight. Normally on late nights I barely get to play at all. He ate another big dinner too. I'm in between laundry and dishes, but wanted to share my happy boy. I'm so thankful for our exersaucer. When I first get home he plays in there and watches sesame street while I take care of the dogs, unpack, and pump. He very rarely gets fussy and it makes my life so much easier. In return I save all other chores for after he goes to bed so the rest of the night is dedicated to him.
Oh and I scheduled his Easter pics for March 25th- I'm really excited because they will be taken with real bunnies, now I just have to go and pick out an outfit for him :)

Day 65- Snowy Sunday

I took a picture of the snow today- it came as a shock to me b/c last I saw the forecast it was going to be a rainy weekend. I'm getting lesson plans ready for my sub tomorrow so I can't post much today. But I have a picture of my teething little man and his drool soaked bib as well as a picture of his progress toward crawling, sitting and reaching w/ putting weight on his hands. You can tell by his face he is so not happy that he has to do this. Hope you all had a great weekend, back to work tomorrow.

Day 64- Sweet Dreams

We had a very busy day. Jackson's first time swimming, the carnival, and Russell's parents and brothers were here to visit. Because of all this, the first time I had a chance to get a picture of Jackson was when he was sound asleep. So sweet dreams everyone.

Day 63- Splish Splash

I have a lot to do and plan on an early bedtime tonight. Jackson was in a great mood. He's moving out of his baby tub soon though. He can now sit up from the inclined position on his own (he's been doing this for about 3 weeks now). He is so impressed with himself that tonight he started to try and stand up on his own- he was pretty close before I tried to catch him. So in honor of him getting stronger and stronger I've included a picture of one of his last days in his baby bathtub.

Day 62- Long week!

It's been a long week and I'm pretty tired. Jackson slept much better last night, only got up once and was sound asleep 20 minutes later. Tomorrow I have to get my classroom cleaned up and paperwork done and organized so that it will be ready for carnival. So I'm headed to bed, but here is a picture of Jackson playing with his kick and play right after dinner/before his bath.

Day 61- Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

I hope you all took an extra minute to have fun reading Dr. Seuss today! This is one of my favorite teaching days of the year. Today my students started their own "foot book" by painting their feed- tomorrow they will decorate them with opposites and write rhymes. We also created oobleck (a wonderful concoction of cornstarch, water, and food coloring) that works as both a solid and a liquid. Days like this, where the kids are having so much fun, they don't even realize all that they are learning. It was probably the best teaching day I've had in awhile!

Here at home, Jackson and I started the day reading "Mr. Brown Can Moo, Can You?" Dressed in his Seuss Click-A-Doo AI2 diaper and Dr. Seuss onesie, Jackson was ready for the day. After dinner tonight we had fun playing with the oobleck left over from class. Then Jackson got to do his favorite thing of all, play with Joe.

He still wasn't sleeping well last night, so I'm off to bed- hoping he sleeps better tonight b/c I'm one worn out mama!

I'll leave you all today with one of my favorite Dr. Seuss quotation: "Today was good. Today was fun. Tomorrow is another one!"

Day 60- Double fisting

Jackson was loving on his toast tonight. I have a picture of him trying to shove toast in his mouth with both hands. He also started to play bashful. I would get him to smile, but he quickly turned himself away from the camera. Little booger :) Due to his teething, he was up crying most of the night last night until the teething pellets and tylenol started to work. So I only got 3 1/2 hours of sleep and I'm getting ready for bed b/c it's only Tuesday!
